One thing I really like about Google that surprises me, is how this company that is no longer private that has gone public still continues to do things typically associated with private companies.Continually providing cool new technologies, however one thing I really admire is their jump to use their technology to help out. I already liked their Tsunami Relief page. However now after the disasterous Hurricane Katrina and Rita they have not only resources listed, but they've utilized their powerful search technology to allow you to essentially “google” people affected by it (albeit there is the disclaimer it may not have all people). However it definitely provides hope to those who may not have heard from loved ones.

Anyways check it out, I've permalinked it on the sidebar too.

Strangely Interesting

  • Check this out. Someone took the time to draw a pic of Homer Simpson purely in CSS.

  • Not feeling safe at night? How about a table that turns into a shield and bat?

  • Seeing as I will most likely never climb Everest, this will have to do.  Someone has kindly created this 360 Degree panorama of the view from the top.
