I can’t remember when they launched the youth targeted (18-34 crowd) commuter paper Dose, but I’m sure it’s been under a year ago. Well it’s officially been taken off the press. It will continue in it’s online form as well as their hip “mobile” editions for your cellphone etc.

I’ve always really liked the look of mosaic art. I’m excited about the fact that the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association decided to do a project like this.
There’s been 12 mosaics created by various artists and now that they’re done being displayed at the Park Place building at 666 Burrard they’re being installed in the sidewalks around downtown. It’ll be spread out over a 90 block area..so far I’ve only found 8 7 of the 12. The 90 block area they are contained is marked on this map.
*56K Warning* Check them out after the jump.

I’ve been sick for a little too long which prompted me to finally go see the doctor. I’m basically just recovering out of a flu that’s lasted a near solid two weeks. Influenza this year definitely seems to have some crazy mutated super strains. I’ve heard of numerous other people who have been quite ill as a result of the flu lately. Unfortunately I don’t think that the flu is all I have.
I’ve recently hopped onto the ColdFX bandwagon. It’s definitely one to be on. The stuff seems to stand up to all the testimonies of how great it works. It’s curbed all my cold/flu symptoms thus far. Although this stuff is seriously expensive!

There’s not many bands that put out good music lately, so I’m looking forward to Keane’s new sophomore album “Under The Iron Sea”. It’s slated for a release date of June 12th, or the 20th here in North America.
They’re probably the only band I don’t mind covering U2′s songs. Hey they even opened for some of the U2 shows a few years back, not to mention they got their start and credit Achtung Baby as a key influence.
The range of their debut album was already a surprising delight with all the piano driven melodies as opposed to the common guitar riffs. This followup album is going to have a more electronic sound to it with the use of more synths and samples. The feel will be ethereal and what they self-describe as a “sinister fairytale-world-gone-wrong”. The music and lyrics are to be bleaker feeling than their debut “Hopes & Fears”.
