More events, more stuff to do in Vancouver. For once there’s stuff to do. I hope this is the year Vancouver breaks out of the shell for being a sleepy city. It certainly better to get ready for the 2010 Olympics. Dancesport BC is kicking off their annual Summertime Dance Series. It’s been a city event ongoing for 28 years now!

It’s only been a few days since it was officially Summer, but Vancouver is off to a full tilt boogie with events. The World Urban Forum III just wrapped today and hot on it’s heels was the kickoff to the Vancouver International Jazz Festival. As for tomorrow, it will be the start to The World Peace Forum.

This is probably one of the most innovative and encouraging ways you can help someone in the developing parts of the world and I would encourage anyone to get in on this. The name Kiva is also quite appropriate for what they’re doing I would say. All you need is paypal. This is truly using technology to empower people who wish to micro-finance. The idea and implementation is simply great. You act as an investor loaning your money out to help people who are starting small businesses in developing countries.

I just found a cool site called Story Code that works a lot like Pandora does for music. It suggests books for reading that you might like based on what you have read. It’s still a fairly new site so the more people that start using it the more effective it will be. Currently it is pretty robotic in terms of it’s recommendations.
