Canada is generally known as being a loving and accepting country with no real qualms with any other country in the world it is an incredibly peace loving nation. Our involvement in the war over the past year has been garnering far more attention as more and more Canadian soldiers are killed in action.

There’s a difference between knowledge and wisdom. Usually with age comes wisdom. My Grandma over the years has been churning out great short quotable snippets of the aforementioned wisdom. They often are humurous and coming from anyone younger would just sound silly, but they are so true.

Dove in recent years has been creating numerous commercials about “natural beauty”. Their newest campaign is a series of short films. This one in particular caught my eye. Especially in North America where our definition of beauty is so distorted by media this is a refreshing look at what’s behind it all. Check it out 60 seconds from normal to billboard beauty. As westernized as my family is there are still certain aspects that shine through from time to time when I am reminded of how Chinese we still are. First how western influence has affected our meals: my entire family including my parents and grandmother all hate rice. We eat extremely minimal amounts. We eat our meals on plates and not in bowls, with forks and chopsticks together. We have our steak with bok choy. Our rice noodles with spaghetti sauce.
